Maine Food & Farm Residency

Experience a tour of Maine’s food systems unlike any other. In this week-long residency, daily food-themed explorations will be based out of our sustainable, riverfront farm campus, just minutes away from an abundance of coastal and inland purveyors of delicious, fresh food.

Spend a week diving into the rich agricultural heritage and culture of food systems in Maine at our overnight residency. From insider tours of local food purveyors to marine field-trips exploring the lobster industry and coastal farming practices, curious foodies will delight in learning the behind-the-scenes details of popular Maine’s food scene. Participants will also be immersed in life on the farm, gaining ecological knowledge of environmental factors affecting crop production and experiencing first-hand the planting, harvesting, and preparing of fresh foods in The Ecology School’s new Teaching Kitchen.

Participants will be treated to farm-fresh, local, and nutritious foods during family-style meals, and comfortable accommodations during rest hours, housed in our new Living Building dining commons and dormitory.

Our Food & Farm Residency is on-hold for Summer 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
