New education program aims to get students involved in outdoor learning
SACO, Maine — A new program launched this week to get more Maine students involved in outdoor learning opportunities for free.
Maine Outdoor School for All will offer thousands of students in Maine the chance to go on a three-day overnight educational trip.

The program was established by the University of Maine Cooperative Extension after a bipartisan law to create it was passed in May.
Previously, outdoor educational experiences were paid for by school districts, leaving some unable to participate for financial reasons.
