Students from Oberlin College Intern at The Ecology School

The Ecology School micro-internship offered a wide range of experiences within a professional work atmosphere. Whether it was analyzing data in excel or researching land acknowledgment methods, I feel that I learned a lot and have grown a stronger passion for environmental education.

Thank You, Interns!

Kate Raphaely and Claire Kaliski joined our team in mid-October through Oberlin College's Micro internship program. The Oberlin Micro Internship program was offered to third-year students as part of the college's response to the pandemic this past year. Students participated in a month-long Career Readiness and Skill Building Summit through Oberlin (where Alex Grindle, our Director of Programs, graduated in 2001) and they were placed with businesses, nonprofits, and organizations throughout the country.

Over the course of the the last three months, Kate and Claire have helped with a number of different projects including researching the history of the land that is now River Bend Farm, calculating our school return rate and helping with our efforts of going through the Just Organization Label evaluation. We are so grateful for their work and energy and wish both Kate and Clare the best of luck back at Oberlin!
